I am a 46 year old mother of two, working full time and I am going to sign up for my first Half Ironman Triathalon (today) . What am I thinking? I didn't wake up this morning and decide to do this. I've been thinking about "what's next". I toyed with the idea of getting my Ed. D, even spent an hour of my life on a virtual web information session. Alas, nothing is really sparking my intellectual fire and it seems like a huge time commitment and financial commitment (like training for and paying for all the stuff isn't???). to start down the doctoral path if I am not really jazzed about it. I've done a couple of sprint triathalons (actually have another one next week!) and I probably should do and Olympic distance before signing up for a Half Ironman but I am going to throw caution to the wind and sign up for, quite possibly, the most physically challenging thing I have ever done (although childbirth....). So, get ready to follow my course to Ironman 70.3 in Wilmington, NC on October 19th, 2019!
